DIY Christmas Reindeer Canvas

Hello! Sorry it has been SOOOO long since my last blog post! If you follow me on Facebook you would have known that we are expecting girl number two! And I get really sick.... But things have been getting better so hopefully I can start being a little more consistent again! :) Plus, nothing gets you crafting again than the feeling of Christmas right around the corner! I have been working on a few easy crafts that I cant wait to share with you!

I love all the different deer silhouette canvases you can find on Pinterest! I had a hard time deciding what style I wanted...and how much glitter! :) And to be honest, I didn't really make up my mind..I just started working on my project and just kinda went with what I felt like doing in the moment, ha!

I did two different canvas pieces. I found this set of 4 16x20 Canvases at Walmart for $20...yep!! STEAL!

You will also need a picture to trace onto your canvas, paint, glue, glitter, and paint brushes--I used a small one and a bigger foam brush.

I mixed my own paint using colors I had--for the dark Navy blue I used blue, orange, and a tad of black

To start the Deer Head Silhouette, I just found an image I liked online and printed it. If you need to enlarge it like I did, use this FREE site! It will print your image on multiple pages. Then I just cut it out and taped it together! Next, trace your image onto your canvas. I then used my thin brush to outline the deer and paint in all the small areas.

After it is all outlined, I used my foam brush to paint the rest!

After it was done I decided to make it a little more Christmas-y by adding a red glitter nose :) Wait until your paint is dry, then simply draw a circle on the nose using glue and sprinkle glitter on it!

My next canvas is all the reindeer names. I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut out my stencil but you could always go buy an ABC stencil from a craft store. Then I simply traced each name onto my canvas, spacing it evenly apart, and painted! I painted the names grey and decided to add some red glitter to "Rudolph"

And Thats it!! Now I just need to find the perfect place to hang these two together!!
